This Impact Report for 2024 highlights the organization’s unwavering commitment to providing underground education, demonstrating the indomitable spirit that has defined Sahar’s journey since its inception in 2009.

“2024 was a year of resilience and determination for Sahar Education and the communities we serve in Afghanistan. The situation in Afghanistan, particularly regarding girls' education, remains deeply challenging.
Since 2021, restrictive policies and bans have barred millions of girls from attending secondary schools and universities, severely limiting their educational opportunities. These measures have disproportionately impacted rural and underserved communities, where access to education was already constrained. Despite challenges, Sahar has continued to champion learning opportunities for girls and young women empowering women and girls to lead meaningful and thriving lives and communities.”
